Project Energise

Bubba from Project Energise came to show Room 57 the best way to run fast and jump high.

We all pretended to be superhero's and ran as fast as we could.

Welcome back to Term 4!!!

Gosh I can hardly believe it is Term 4 already and it is going to be a crazy busy term.

We started off the term with a wonderful problem solving activity.

We had to create a tower with newspaper as tall as the tallest person in our group.

It was really a challenge but we did come up with some very creative ideas.

We voted! Did you?

On Friday Room 57 voted.

We learnt about the process and the importance of voting.

On Monday we are going to tally our results and see who Room 57 thought should run the country.

Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

This week is Maori language week.
We spent the afternoon with Room 13 and listened to the legend of the Taniwha of Wellington Harbour.
We then coloured our own Taniwha to show at assembly on Friday.

Yum, yum, yum!!!

It only took 5 days for our cress seeds to be ready to harvest.

We buttered our own bread and cut the tops off our cress plants and then put them in our sandwich.

We really weren't sure if we were going to like it or not but.......

We LOVED it!

Samantha and her flute came to visit.

Samantha is Ms. Bonsey's daughter and she came to school to help us today.  She helped us plant our seeds and then she showed us her flute and played us some lovely music.

Springtime in Room 57

September the 1st was the first day of Spring and so in Room 57 we decided to do some planting.
We used the process of planting the seeds to write instructions so others could also plant some seeds.

Here are a few of our stories:

First we need soil.  Next is the cress seeds, then you go back to get a second bit of soil.
- Rebekah

1.  First we get soil.
2.  next get some seeds.
 - Bella

First we put soil in.  Next we put seeds in.  Then we put more soil in.  The we put water.
