Term Three begins with a BANG!!

Welcome back everyone to Term 3.
It is crazy to think that Term 3 is upon us already.

We have had a busy, busy week and today was no exception.
We have been
reading The Dippy Dinner Drippers, a story about a family that made a HUGE mess when they eat and so we made our own messy T-Shirts with Room 7.

This week we have also been learning about the short vowel sounds and so we did some cooking (cook has the short /oo/ sound).
We made pikelets and had pikelets with jam before assembly. YUM YUM YUM!

We finished the day with afternoon tea in the sun and then a little bit of fitness.
What a busy Friday we have had.

100 Days at School

WE  MADE IT!

Today in Room 5 we celebrated 100 days of learning and 100 days at school.
We explored lots of activities including counting to 100 in 10's as we made ice creams, we added 100 gumballs to our gumball machines.  Built a structure using 100 plastic cups, rolled the dice and counted to 100.  Krue and Kash even wrote 100 words!
And of course you can't have a party without a cake....

What a fabulous day to celebrate our time together.

Constable Max and Constable Ciara

Room 5 was visited today by Constable Max and Constable Ciara who talked to use about doing the right thing and being aware of ours and others personal space.
We learnt so much today and will always do our best to do the right thing.

Discovery Time in Rimu!

Monday always begins with Discovery Time and this Monday we celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Maori.
We played traditional Maori games like knucklebones and Ti Rakau (Maori stick games) - the children draw koru in the shaving foam, made koru from lego and made beautiful prints using paint and koru sponges.

Disco Fever

It was so much fun at the Disco on Friday.  The Room 5 super hero's were out in force.
