We are Room 5!

We are Room 5 and we couldn't be happier about it.  

We have enjoyed getting to know each other over the last 2 weeks and our learning has begun.  It is going to be a great year and I can't wait to watch your wonderful children grow and develop as the year moves along.

Whanau Time!

What an amazing time we had at Waikanae Pool.

Lots and lots of sun and sunscreen and lots of tired children on the bus ride home.

Room 5 has hit the ground running!!!

Welcome back to school and to Room 5!

It has been a crazy 2 weeks but the children of Room 5 has settled well into their learning and are eager to make new friends and learn new things.

We are looking forward to great weather and a fun day in Waikanae tomorrow and I hope to see you there.

Reindeers and cookies.

With Christmas and the summer holidays fast approaching we decided to get into the Christmas spirit and we made some Christmas cards using our handprints and measured strips of paper to make a Christmas Tree for another Christmas Card.

We then used gingerbread cookies and decorated them so they looked liked reindeer.  

They sure tasted great with our milk this afternoon.

 

Prep Market

What an amazing day we had a prep market.  

We had worked so hard on all of our products and they looked awesome.  It was a wonderful day and Room 5 wants to say a big thank you to all those who supported our class and our wonderful school.

Reading for a purpose

During reading time this week TK read a book called Parachutes.

It was a great book that gave him instructions about how he could make his own toy parachutes.  And guess what TK did?

He went home and made his very own toy parachute following the instructions of the book he had read.

This afternoon he explained to us how it worked and then demonstrated how great it was.

Kei hea te tuna?

With the help of the children that work with Whaea Clare every week we learnt this poem about eels.

The eels were in the sea, the river, the lake, the eel trap, our hangi and then in our puku.
