We have been learning lots about bones in Room 57.
Did you know we have more bones in our hands than in our feet?
And that the biggest bone in our body is our femur?
We used all the things we knew about bones to make a skeleton. We worked in small groups to create our skeleton and we had to do lots of problem solving and talking to each other to make sure our skeleton looked right.
Another great week of swimming and today we learnt how to be safe in the water, in the river, in the ocean and when we are trouble in the water. Next week we have swimming on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Today Rimu was lucky enough to meet Juliette MacIver an author who lives in Titahi Bay. We have many of her books in our library and today she read us her new book about a Kiwi hunt that isn't even published yet!
We are learning lots of new skills that help us in all areas of our learning. PMP is every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and we would love any mums, dads, aunties, granddads, cousins to come along and help us. We start at 2 and finish around 2:45 so come along and join in the fun with RIMU!!!
We have spent a lot of time getting to know each other in Room 5 and making new friends. We thought we would like to find out some things about our friends and so we decided to ask our friends what their favourite things were.
We each drew pictures of our favourite toys, sports, colours and our favourite numbers!
We worked together in our shared numeracy books to sort, classify and display our results.
